Good times and disasters..

We have only three weeks left, time has gone so fast and that's good cause we are feeling a lot homesick. Three weeks ago we got a new housemate, a girl from Denmark called Helle and she is just like us. We just clicked right away !

Girls night with Austin Powers.. Grrrroooovy.

Not bad.. Not bad at all..

Milla's parents were here for ten days. It was nice that they were here and we got time to show places to them and that way we had also time to enjoy Malta. We had the chance to see places we haven't seen yet and just enjoy. With them we were first time at The Point shopping mall. We think it is biggest one in Malta but in Finnish scale it ain't that big. There is 3 floors of stores and evey floor has like 6-10 stores.

Boats infront of Hilton Hotel.. Nice..

When it was Helle's fist weekend at Malta we took her out to see the nightlife in here. It was soooo much fun ! We cooked food, went to bubblebath and drank sparkling wine.

We with our roommates Belen and Helle

Yummy !

Helle also cooked us pancakes with the pancake pan we found from the appartment....

Heidi got this infection in to her face four weeks ago. First we thought it was only because of the wind so lips were chapping. Three  weeks ago it got so bad that Heidi couldn't open her mouth. Heidi went to see a doctor to pharmacy (which is very good system over here!) and the doctor said that it is an infection. We don't want to put picture over here so you won't throw up.. But  on two weeks ago on Wednesday evening everything changed. We checked better the yellow-brown-grey stain on the roof and on the wall and saw something we think is mold.. So maybe now we have an explanation to Milla's headaches and sickness and to Heidi's infection. So yay, nice to be here. Heidi also went to see the doctor to health center a week after and doctor at the pharmacy was right, bacterial infection.. She still has some rash in her face but the pain is gone.

Three weeks ago we had this Mediterranean cyclone here and winds were crazy! It was like 30m/s so everything was flying and waves we're like 6meters high. At the same time it was so scary but we think that we'll never experience anything like that. Even the Maltese people are calling it as the storm of the century.

Here is a youtube video of the storm, not going to experience this in Finland..
After cyclone.. We're lucky that it's not our appartment..
Heidi and her co-workers stuck at the office.

Other nice thing is also that because of the mold, we moved in with other girls to Msida which is closer to everything. So last 5 weeks here, we all can be together! :) We had a crazy amount of luggage.. Really.. We don't know how we're going to get everything back home without having to pay more than our clothes costed us.

Two person's stuff.. Ok there is also food, but still...

We really haven't had anything worth writing lately. Sorry about that. Everything is just getting so casual and everyday stuff. But last saturday we first time while living at Msida did something. We went to see Birgu, a town which played a major role defending Malta in 16th century. After that we were supposed to go watch a movie but decided to take advantage of happy hours at Sliema... 2 drinks for 5,95€. After that we were supposed to go home but from home we went to Paceville. Explanation to all this was finnish phrase "tanssijalkaa vipattaa". Translated to english, we wanted to dance. :D

Those prices.. Hallelujah.

Must have elevator group selfie ! :D

"Chips before di..." Nevermind..

Heidi's work:
I still have been doing lot of stuff with PhotoShop but also, because few people from company went to Italy were Go&Fun is from, I did some Powerpoint shows. I worked 12hours at the office day before they left and we ordered some pizza and drank Go&Fun. I couldn't even complain because that was the best time I have had here, even though I like every day here. I also did my best PhotoShop pictures two weeks ago so everything is going great.

Also our internship includes business to business sales, so I decided to try to get Go&Fun to Finland. I contacted R-Kioski and maybe later to other places. I was huge thing for me to really do it. Of course we've been practising those things at school but when you really have contacted some one about real case it's whole different thing.

My best cover, like really. If you have heard about Redbull having to pay
people because it didn't give them wings, you will get it.
Example of my work process. All the pictures I used to do that picture.

Other pic I'm proud of.
The flyer I did, yay ! It's cool to see it ready and printed!

Milla's work:

My days at work has been almost the same than all of the other days. Few days at the office and few events in a week. Last few weeks I have been working at Valletta in a beer hunt and organizing couple of games for the Junior Eurovision singers. Also we had this build a car event at Golden Sands.

We love weekends !

So over week has past since our last writing and weekdays have been the same: working, chilling at home and playing basketball. But last weekend was amazing ! Friday we were at Paceville partying and it won't be a lie if we say that it was the best night ever. We had a blast!

Haha, we asked if those policeofficers could come with us to the picture.
Check the first one giving his best pose.. :D

Also on Sunday we decided to go to Golden Bay again. After about one hour sunbathing one man came to inform us about this speedboat trip to Popeye Village and to the Blue Lagoon. It was 15€ per person so not that bad.

View from the speedboat

First we went to see the Popeye Village. It's place where first Popeye movie was shooted at 80's and all the cute little houses were props for the movie.

I want to move into that blue one ! -Heidi

After that it was time to go to the Blue Lagoon and gosh that place was amazing. Other girls have already been there but for us it was the first time. Water was clear and warm so it was a shame that we only had 1,5hours there before our ride back arrived.

That water ...

So about work week,

HEIDI

This week I'm starting to realize that this job can offer so much for me. There is so many 'layers' in this type of work. Future will show is this something I would like to do after this internship..

This week I've been trying so search new retailers, but not only for Go&Fun but for example to Nivea and P&G. It would be easier to search them from Malta but my task was search them abroad. May sound easier than it is. I have also been promoting product in one grocerie store and doing survey again in Valletta.

I also had to do flyers which are adverising that when you buy one pizza, you get one litre Go&Fun bottle free. It's actually really nice and rewarding to see afterwards what you have done with your own hands.

I have still been busy with all the events but it will soon calm because 'winter' is coming. We have been again at Golden Bay, Gozo and Comino Islands where we did this 'Survivors' competition. Participants had to make a fire, build a shelter and boat and some equipment so they could carry water.

Santa Venera was a new place for me. We had this 'Build a Car' event there. Groups had to build a car of things they have been given and then two people dragged it about 100meters when one person was inside. Who got the fastest lap won.

We were also working at Limestone Heritage. We did some games to participants and there were also couple Finnish people !

Already three weeks?!

We hadn't had time to write because we have been working a long days and after work almost straight to the basketball practice. So nothing special :D

1/4 behind and it feels like we just came here ? Ok, we admit that there is times that we both get a little homesick especially because the weather hasn't been too good.

Second week we also went to our first basketball practices and also we had games on Tuesday and Sunday. Playing here is kind of similar as in Finland but the same time completely different so it's going to take a while to get used to this. There is only one downside playing basketball here: trainings start at 9pm so we're home after 11pm and that is the time we've been normally sleeping already..

Enough about basketball. Oh gosh our Spanish roommate is funny, she fits with us so well! Even though sometimes we don't understand anything she is saying and she sings all the time. :D On Saturday a week ago we went to see this "Notte Bianca" to Valletta. It's an event when most of the stores and restaurants are open the whole night. There was music and lights everywhere but TOO MANY PEOPLE.... You literally couldn't move sometimes, you just went where ever people close to you were going and every Finn knows the importance of having own space..

Last Saturday Milla had work at the beach called Golden Bay, so we decided to go there too and Belen came with us also. It was first time when I had time to go sunbathing.. Water was also so warm and clear so that was a perfect way to spend our Saturday. Later that day we all went to have dinner to Valletta.

Heidi, Hanna and Silja enjoying :))

On Sunday we were hiking with our teammates for three hours at Strait of Sicily. It was exhausting but the views were pretty amazing. After hiking we went to nearest restaurant to eat some burgers :D It was nice to see first time our teammates somewhere else than in practice.

The first "hill" we came down...

Something about work:

MILLA
I've been working outside almost the whole week and it has been very nice because the days has been sunny and sometimes even too hot. I have also been working in few Saturdays but fortunately my supervisor has given me some day off in a week if I've been working in weekends. This month has been super busy at work because we have like two to three events everyday. So there is a lot of preparations and packing everything in the van and October is the most busiest month in the company so there is lot to do everyday.

HEIDI

On the second week here I was three days at University of Malta giving free tastings to students. I was with people from Toyota because they launched the new Toyota Aygo car which slogan is "Go fun yourself" so Go&Fun energy drink fitted there well. I also met two students from Finland, yay !

Also a weeks ago I was at Valletta doing surveys and giving tastings. At other times I've been doing the covers to Go&Fun so Photo Shop is even more familiar now.. Doing covers is nice if you have an inspiration but if you don't... Well, I just bang my head to the table and pray that I would get an idea..

Some covers I've been doing

First day at University.

Also after working at Valletta me and Silja (One of the other Finnish girls) wanted to go eat and sit somewhere where we could eat Maltese traditional food 'rabbit'. Ok, we also took couple beers, we want to stay hydrated.. We took three different foods and shared them and it was sooooo gooood ! Downside was that we ate rabbit raviolis so the pasta flavor kind of covered the taste of rabbit.
